Artist talk by Jasna Veličković
Jasna Veličković is a Serbian composer, performer, and artistic researcher based in Amsterdam. Her work investigates how magnetic phenomena can become compositional systems, with a particular focus on magnetism as both sonic material and compositional method.
Jasna participated in Tactology Lab 1 with the project SPOOSH, alongside Vincent Schoutsen and Nathan Marcus.
What to expect during the meetup:
- A short presentation about Tactology Lab and a short talk by Roald and Wouter about their work and why they choose the theme
- Artist talk by Jasna Veličković about her work and experimental approach
- Drinks and a peek into the Makerspace at Het Hof van Cartesius
Time and location
19:30 - 21:30 (doors open at 19:15)
Location: Het Hof van Cartesius

More about Jasna
Since 2008, Jasna has developed The Art of Coil, a long-term artistic research project exploring self-built instruments, electromagnetic systems, and process-based approaches to composition and performance.
This research led to the invention of the Velicon, a self-built electronic instrument that uses configurable magnets, metal objects, and coils to generate sound. Through this work, she creates dynamic sonic environments in which experimentation, listening, interaction, and transformation become central compositional principles.
Her music has been presented internationally at the Holland Festival, ISCM World Music Days, MATA Festival, Archipel, Ring-Ring, Gibanja and Sound (Dis)obedience. Her composition Underneath (2021), for hyper-organ and coils, received the Mokranjac Award for Best Composition in 2022. Alongside her artistic practice, she is a guest teacher in the Composition Department at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague.
In 2025, she co-founded TEMPERATURA, a concert series dedicated to experimentation and collaboration in contemporary music.
Tactology Lab 4 at Rewire Festival
Tactology Lab 4: MOTION by Sounds Like Touch presents:
Alessandro Miele, Anna Bielska, Atser Damsma, Cris Mollee, Demi van Kuijk, Junying Wu, katarina kadijević, Kinga Molinska, Maisie Palmer, Niek van der Veer, Nina (Alex) Buurman & Rachit Puri
This year’s edition of Tactology Lab is curated by Vincent Schoutsen and Dianne Verdonk and is about ‘MOTION’.
In this fourth lab, participants have been experimenting with materials and electronics to lower the bar of transferring bodily movements into (electronic) artistic expression.
You are very welcome to experience the always remarkable results of these collaborative processes in their joint performance at Rewire festival.
Location: The Grey Space in The Middle
Free entrance!
